Joint Chiefs weathers the storm
Oct 15, 2011
Joint Chiefs got through the some torrid weather this afternoon at Eagle Farm to record his first victory on a wet track in the Open 1200m Hcp. With a huge storm coming & some serious thunder & lightning not too far away, Stewards made the wise decision to bring the race forward & they jumped 8 minutes ahead of the advertised starting time.
Chris Munce got Chief through the mud & gloom & kept him wide on the track to avoid all the slush coming back in his face. He kept his balance & momentum up to finish the race off strongly. It was the quickest return to scale by a race field in a long time as the jocks got off their mounts ASAP to seek shelter from the lightning & thunder up above.
